Access control refers to the method or methods chosen to open and close your automated gates. There are many different options available to control who can and can't have access and egress to and from your property.
Some of the popular methods of access control we use are listed below. You can have as many (or as few) as you like as part of your automated gate system.
Radio transmitter fobs - These remotes have robust, weatherproof cases, excellent range and long life. Simply press the relevant button and your gate/s will open. All of our installations include two fobs and we can provide as many additional as you require. We can also program our fobs to existing installations.
Push Button - A simple, weatherproof button, which when pressed will open the gate/s. We often wire these through a timeclock so they operate only at certain times chosen by the customer. For example - anyone can access throughout the day, but after 19:00 the push button is disabled and access must be via other means (radio transmitter, keypad etc.)
Keypad - A keypad requiring a four digit code of your choice. Anyone in possession of the code can then open the gate/s. If required, an additional code can be programmed into the keypad to hold the gate/s open.
Inductive loop - An inductive loop cut beneath the surface of the driveway to allow hassle-free egress. The gates will open automatically as a vehicle is detected by the loop in the ground. We have also installed inductive loops allowing automatic access to a property and usually wired through a timeclock so unwanted access is prevented outside of the chosen times.
Wired audio intercom - An audio intercom and built in keypad with a call button mounted on a gate post or close to the gate. There will then be a data cable run directly to a handset in the house which will ring when the button at the gate is pressed. The handset will have a push button to allow access. We can also add a switch to hold the gates open from the handset if required.
IP video intercom - This would be connected to your broadband router and allow you to view and control access via an app from your mobile phone. We often include a monitor which can be positioned at a suitable location in the house. The monitor and/or mobile phone would ring when the call button at the gate was pressed.
Wireless GSM intercom - This is a great option if the gates are a distance from the house or if it's tricky to run the necessary wiring. It employs GSM technology to communicate and open your gate/s. If the call button is pressed on the intercom unit on the gate, it will call either a landline or a mobile phone and you can open your gates from your telephone. It has the facility to divert to up to three additional numbers if the first is engaged or unanswered. Please note this option requires a mobile phone reception at the location of the gate and a sim card to be supplied by the customer.
This list is not exhaustive, there are many other option available including key switches to hold the gates open, motion sensors and and emerging technologies such as wifi access. If you have any specific requirements please don't hesitate to contact us.
This is becoming a popular option for access control. Our customers like to be able to receive a call to their phone and allow access to a visitor or delivery driver at their gate.
A number of allocated telephones can also open the gate by ringing the number of the sim card housed in the intercom unit. The gates can also be held open if required by sending the unit a text message or by using an app.
